Hi there, Students! I'm Puppy-sensei. I make Japanese language content to help you level up your Japanese skills! It's my goal to bring joy to you as you strive to meet your language goals. I'm a professional translator and interpreter and I make Japanese language content for YouTube. I am also an IRIAM Founding Streamer and I do daily content streams on the IRIAM US app in addition to other content streams elsewhere.
We're going to achieve our dreams together! Let's chase our stars!
I believe that education doesn't need to be painful. I have always believed that the methods we employ to teach language can be improved through care and compassion.
Not so very long ago, I was the classroom pet in a Japanese classroom. At the time, my job was just to help the students, to provide emotional support and homework assistance and all the kinds of things that a good classroom pupper should do. But, the nice teacher from that class believed in me. She thought that maybe one day I could get my good doggie degree so that I could eventually become a teacher myself. And with her help, that's exactly what I did. I miss her every day.
After I got my good doggie degree, I decided to take a little job as a Japanese translator. It was supposed to be only 1 month. But I ended up staying. I enjoy translation and I get to learn more Japanese every day. That also lets me pass my knowledge off to you, which makes me really happy.
It happened over and over again, always in the same way. I would have a client contact me and say "I want to learn Japanese!" They always seemed enthusiastic and excited, and I've always had reasonable rates, so they always sounded surprised and pleased to learn that I really don't charge that much for tutoring (it's about the passion, not the money). But over and over the same thing was happening. I would open time in my schedule, I would set a public location for our first lesson..... and they wouldn't show up. I can't tell you how many times I got ghosts by clients - a dozen? 2 dozen?
Eventually I decided that I would just start putting my lessons up on YouTube - at least that way I could teach without having to constantly change my schedule around. And that's how I became a content creator and streamer! And I love it! I get to do what I like doing most in the world (teaching) and I can also feel as though I'm helping people and making a difference in your lives!
Putting my lessons on YouTube is great, but it's not very hands on. If you want personalized services where you have a hands-on and passionate teacher willing to work with you and answer your specific questions, then I really do want to help you as much as I possibly can. I look forward to working with you!
